Original Fancy Box – September 2013

Now to the review…

Last month I was a bit disappointed in some of my fancy boxes and since my original subscription included a really awful overpriced magazine I decided to drop “media” from my subscription categories and just stick with: Womens, Home & Gadgets.  I also received the wrong Tshirt size.  Fancy is still working on getting me the correct size.  They did send me a $15 gift code as well, but that didn’t hit in time to apply to this box.

Herb KeeperHerb Savor Mini Pod  Retail$13.00
Verdict:  Miss/Gift

“Prepara herb-savor pod will prolong the life of your fresh herbs for up to 3 weeks.” I generally love kitchen gadgets, but I already have an herb keeper that I rarely use.  I don’t buy fresh herbs that much and when I do I typically use them immediately.  It’s not a bad idea, just not right for me.   It’s going in the Christmas gift pile.

Nail PolishCorrupted Neon Nail Polish by Ciaté
 Retail $25.00
Verdict:  Miss/Gift
This polish set features matte neon polish, a glitter pot and glows in the dark.   I also received the caviar Ciaté polish in my most recent Jennifer Love Hewitt Celebrity Fancy box and didn’t care for that one either.   I think this is the kind of thing that would appeal to a teenager or a college kid moreso than an adult woman.  I could see this item fitting in with the Pink subscription box, but here I feel like the products need to be more universally appealing.  That being said, I have someone in mind that I think will enjoy this so it’s not a total waste.

ChargerFancy Power Grid by Tego: Retail $60.00
Verdict:  Win!
This charge allows you to charge two items at once and utilizes a USB connection.  Not only is this practical and useful, my boyfriend has been nagging me to get something just like it.  As soon as I’d finished taking photos of it for you lovely folks I passed it on to him.

Notebook2Fancy 2 Notebook Set Retail $???(Couldn’t find a price on this one so let’s estimate it at $8.00)
Verdict:  Hit

As I’ve mentioned in other posts, I hoard blank notebooks.  I’m not sure if it’s a writer thing, but I have a ton of them in all kinds of styles.  These are very basic, with cute sayings on the front and are a nice medium size.  I probably wouldn’t have purchased them myself because I tend to go for more unusual styles, but I’m sure I’ll get use out of them.

Full Box
Overall

With shipping, I paid $46.95 for this box.  The total retail value of came out to: $106.00.

Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with this box but that’s mostly because the charger was great and had a high value and I can gift the other items I’m not going to use.  Keep your fingers crossed that next month Fancy will run out of complicated nail polish sets to mail out, so I can blog about something new instead.

What did you think of this set?  Would you use any of it?
