Memebox – Global #16

A few months back I went a little nuts ordering Memeboxes, and as they have slowly trickled in I now have a giant stockpile to review for you. Today I’m going with the first box I actually ordered and the last one I received – Memebox Global #16. This box is still available for $29.99.

Memebox’s description: “Always anticipated, and always bringing excitement, Memebox Global is back for the 16^th time! Packed with all your beauty essentials, this box is packed with goodies that will keep you waiting on your toes!”

This was possibly the most vague description on any Memebox ever and if I saw this one now I probably wouldn’t order it. Soon after I snagged this they came out with all kinds of intriguing themes about princesses and berries and oceans that were way more compelling. I now expect a theme to wow me, but let’s see what the super vague box contains.


And thankfully our usual dual-sided card that translates (or tries to translate) the Korean product labels.

RiRe Style Black Head Brush Cleanser & Skinny Black Head Closing Serum 40ml + 20 ml
(Memebox Retail: $18.00)
Description: “Packed with black food complex – black rice, black beans, black sesame –rich in protein and iron, the Style Black Head Cleanser effectively removes any oil, dirt, blackheads, whiteheads, dead skin cells, and skin impurities clogging up the pores and delivers improved firmness and skin elasticity by tightening up blackheadless pores. Verdict: Hit!
If I had to pick my biggest skin problem it would be blackheads so I’m always excited to try a new product that claims to remove them. I’m really intrigued with the brush applicator and can’t wait to try this out!

Elizavecca Shrink Lifting R Pro 120ml
(Memebox Retail: $28)
Description: “Oi-based and non-sticky, Elizavecca Shrink Lifting R pro is a cream for your swollen calves. It works to literally shrink the size of calves by relieving stimaulated skin and increasing skin elasticity and firmness. Its gentle yet effective formula consists of mandarin extracts, coffee extracts, age oil, peppermint, winter green and mate leaf extracts.”
Verdict: Hit!
How did Memebox know I have gigantic Popeye style calves? I also have one calf that’s way bigger than the other. I have these knee high boots where one fits snug and the other totally collapses. When I wear them I look like some weird refugee from an accident in a boot factory. In any case, this is a strange strange product, but I’m still totally into it. The thing I love about Memebox is getting weird stuff I never even knew existed. I’ve heard about creams to shrink your arms, your waist, your wrinkles, even you weird neck jiggles, but calves? It’s so ridiculous I just have to try it.

Hair+ Velvet Nutri-Injection 12ml
(Memebox Retail: $5)
Description: “For all those damaged hairs out there, the Velvet Nutri-Injection is here to save the day! There’s absolutely no need to rinse after application. Simply apply it throughout your hair, especially the damaged ends, after towel drying , and experience results of a hair clinic program!”
Verdict: Like
Does anyone know what results a “hair clinic program” gives you? It makes this sound like it helps you grow more hair, but the description just explains it helps with damaged hair. Despite the mixed messages, this sounds weird enough that I am intrigued. I’ll try it out as a hair treatment on one of my home spa days and see how it goes.

Unni Recipe Vitamin Recharger Mist 130ml
(Memebox Retail: $15.00)
Description: “Qunech skin’s thirst and brighten up dull complexion with Unni Recipe Vitamin Recharger Mist enriched with 6 different vitamins and hyaluronic acid. Plus, it’s completely free of paraben, benzophenon, mineral oil, alcohol, tri-ethanol and artificial coloring, thus making it gentle enough to be used by all skin types.”
Verdict: On the Fence
In general I’m just not a huge fan of facial mists. They just aren’t products that ten to find a place in my regimen. This sounds nice enough and I may give it a chance if I find that my winter skin needs extra moisture.

Mizon Snail Recover Gel Cream 45ml
(Memebox Retail: $24.00)
Description: “A light, fast-absorbing gel cream consisted 74% of snail mucus extracts which work to soothe and de-stress while moisturizing, nourishing and firming the skin for a gentle, non-irritating blemish & wrinkle care.”
Verdict: You had me at snail!
I know it sounds weird, but I have an obsession with snail beauty products. I got a snail face cream in one of my first Memeboxes and I love it so much that I’m always thrilled to get another snail product.

Delskin Centella 90 Power Ampule 30ml
(Memebox Retail: $14.00)
Description: “Over 90% of this facial ampule consists of Centella Asiatica extracts, world renowned for its intensive soothing and repairing agents highly gentle and effective on sensitive skin suffering from stimulated reddened spots or blemishes. Rejuvenate dry, tired skin with one of Mother Nature’s best gifts!”
Verdict: A bit boring
This sounds like a basic serum and after snail creams, and calf thinners and stuff that is supposed to mimic a hair clinic, it just seems a bit lackluster. I’ll add this to my ever growing serum stash but I’m not sure if I’ll use it or pass it along.

OVERALL

Verdict: Love!

I’m surprised at how much I liked this box. I have to say I really do enjoy the weirder items and any time they include a snail product, it just makes me love the box. This box cost $29.99 plus shipping but with a coupon code and free shipping I only paid $24.99. According to Memebox retail the total value of this box was $104.00, but their prices are always inflated.

Most of the products in this box were interesting and I will use nearly all of them so I’m happy with what I received for my $24.99
