Turquoise Necklace

(Retail Price: $24.99)
Verdict: Gift
I actually love turquoise colored jewelry but I happen to have a Modcloth necklace that is very similar to this statement piece, so I’ll use this as a Christmas gift. I do think the necklace is lovely and would appeal to a lot of subscribers.

Vintage Style Geo Bracelet

(Retail Price: $15.00)
Description: One size fits all. This antique brass metal bangle as a touch of vintage style mixed with modern rhinestones and stones.”
Verdict: Gift
Ah, as usual “one size fits all” does not include me. I really like the look of this bracelet, unfortunately I have a small wrist and it just looks funny and falls off if I move to much. I’ll gift this to someone who can wear it.

Golden Layered Sequin Necklace

(Retail Price: $15.00)
Description: Gorgeous in simplicity and design. A gold plated ball chain complimented with a gold plated sequin chain provides a double layered look, versatile enough to wear with anything! 18 inch chain.”
Verdict: Love!
This necklace is so lovely. It’s simple but not too simple, and the disks on it catch the light in a really beautiful way. I loved this piece and wore it right after I got this box. You can wear it to work or out for the weekend with a cute boho top. It’s super versatile and I know I’ll get a ton of use out of it.

Button Earrings
Teal Sparkle Stud Earrings

(Retail Price: $12.00)
Description: This dainty little stud earrings have a teal center with a rhinestone border. Simple and versatile.”
Verdict: Love!
Mint is one of my favorite colors for jewelry and I wear studs regularly for work. These are super cute and have a hint of vintage appeal. I’ll definitely be wearing these.

Statement Earrings
Plum Burst Earrings
(Retail Price: $18.00)
Description: A beautiful array of fuchsia and purple crystals in a star burst design. These earrings are sturdy and definitely a statement piece. Earrings measure about 2 inches.”
Verdict: Love!
I don’t usually treat myself to statement earrings because I tend to wear smaller things for work, but these are absolutely beautiful and unlike anything else I own. One of the best parts of sub boxes is when they send us things that take us out of our comfort zone but that still are appealing. These earrings are different than my normal choices, but I can’t wait to go out for a fancy dinner and wear them.

OVERALL
Dot & YoYo September 2015

Verdict: Love!

This is a brand new subscription so I had no idea what to expect. I am super impressed. Everything was beautifully packaged and the items were cohesive with a great mix of statement pieces plus more versatile, understated picks. The cost of this sub is $35 and the total value received was $84.00. I felt that Dot & YoYo priced these pieces correctly on their website. The prices are definitely on par for what you pay for costume jewelry from other retailers, so you definitely get your money’s worth. I received this box for free, but I would gladly have paid the $35 for the items included. I loved the style of everything and the things that I couldn’t use or were too close to pieces I already have will make lovely gifts. I’m definitely considering gifting myself a 3 month sub. I’ll just have to wait until there’s more room in my sub box budget.

What did you think of Dot & YoYo’s jewelry picks? Are they too your taste?
