Today I have one of my favorite subs: Orglamix Glam Box. It always has an awesome surprise. If you’d like to try out a box for yourself use the coupon code VEGAN to save 25%.
Now let’s see what came in the August Box
Our theme is “Vitamin Sea” and as a sucker for everything “ocean” oriented I was excited right from the start.
Seaweed Elixir Mask
(Estimated Retail: $7.00; $28 for 2 oz Full Size)
Description: ”Use this mask for balanced, dewy, glowing + nourished skin. Use alone as a spot treatment = facial treatment to balance + calm irritated skin, as well as tighten , hourish and tone all skin types….This mask is soothing, rich and deeply healing to any and all skin types. It is gentle and safe enough for daily use.”
Verdict: Hit!
Maybe it’s that I’m a natural redhead and have a kinship to mermaids, but I love all ocean-related and inspired beauty products. I’ve promised myself a home spa day soon and I think I’ll be using this mask.
Ocean Mineral Serum
(Estimated Retail: $32.00)
Description: “A symphony of healing herbs, restorative plant and flower compounds, and our proprietary ocean mineral complex, sea water extract in a super concentrated bio-available delivery system. MSM will act as a natural and healing solvent to drive the active ingredients deep into the skin for superior efficacy.”
Verdict: Hit!
There are a lot of fancy science words in the description of this product and I’ll admit I have no real idea what a “bio available delivery system” actually is, but I love trying out serums so I’m happy with this.
Sea Salt Shimmer Hair Spray
(Estimated Retail: $8.00)
Description: “Ocean Mist Sea Salt Shimmer Hair Spray adds texture, gentle waves and a touch of shimmer to hair—imparting life and volume. Organic aloe vera gel and organic sea kelp extract add moisture and light hold to hair, but won’t leave your main feeling crunchy. The mix of organic essential oils creates a dreamy beachy scent that lingers on hair.“
Verdict: Love for the Product/Miss for the Packaging
I use sea salt sprays regularly and I was so so so excited to a see a shimmering version. I figured this would be wonderful for summer evenings out. The only problem was I couldn’t get the bottle sprayer to work–at all. Try as I might, the thing just wouldn’t spray. I have another small sea salt spray that is almost finished and once it’s done I’ll transfer this product over. I just wish it had worked from the start.
Mermaid Tears mineral whip cream
(Estimated Retail: $18.00)
Description: ”Warning: you’re going to be dipping your fingers in this pot all day long. The color payoff is ridiculous and the chic, saturated shades can be layered or mixed to create your own unique signature color or ombre combination. These lasting shades can also be used as a base to improve the hold of any other eye shadows.”
Verdict: Better than all the whoozits and what-its galore!
This is absolutely gorgeous and feels amazing on. I know it’s a bold color, but it’s so flattering for me and it’s nice to get something that stands out from the usual neutral palettes so many beauty boxes want to send. I wore it out for the first time to dinner for a girl’s night and got hit on, now it’s probably not because of this eyeshadow, but I’m sure it didn’t hurt.
Ocean Potion seaweed detox soak
(Estimated Retail: $5.00)
Description: “Turn your into a makeshift ocean with sea salt, blue green algae and seaweed the key to this detoxifying bath. This amazing soak contains over 80 essential minerals + freshly harvested organic bladderwrack seaweed powder to bright experience of a traditional Irish spa experience to your home without the mess! Combined, tense ingredients help condition skin by increasing moisture and nourishment levels, helping to ease muscle tension and soreness and relax both body and mind.”
Verdict: Hit!
Doesn’t bladderwrack seaweed powder sound like something from an RPG? I’m a sucker for fancy names. I’m saving this for when I get access to a decent tub. As I’m currently working my way through the hell process of buying my own home, I should hopefully have one sooner rather than later.
Beach Bum Sea Salt Scrub
(Estimated Retail: $9.00)
Description: “Reveal your bikini body! Grains of salt deliver a gentle scrubbing sensation that sloughs off rough, dry skin from shoulders to heel. The tropical, beachy scent imparts a cool, fresh feeling over skin for a welcome pick-me-up just the thing to jumpstart your morning or refresh after a long day. Skin is buffed to perfection and ready to glow!”
Verdict: Like!
I use sea salt scrubs regularly and have a giant jar of Sabon’s body scrub sitting in my shower. That jar is finally getting near empty so this one will take it’s place. If you don’t regularly use body scrubs in your shower routine, I recommend adding them in. They really makes a difference in how soft and fresh your skin feels.
OVERALL
Verdict: Love!
I adored the theme of this box and loved the variety of items. There was skincare for your face and body, makeup, hair product – it covered all the bases. I’ll use every item in this box and I would have probably purchased the shimmer spray and the eyeshadow if I’d seen them in a store. I received this box for free but the regular month-to-month price is $29.00. The estimated retail value (based on the included card) came out to $79.00. I think this box was a steal at $29.00. Every month Orglamix manages to send me something unexpected that I love. If you’re interested in natural beauty products definitely give this sub a try.
